Graveside services for James Ray "Bud" Boren, 71, Canton, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, at Prairie Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jack Thompson and Bro. Kip Riley officiating, under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.
Mr. Boren died October 1, 2008, in Dallas.
He was born October 3, 1936 in Iowa Park to Roscoe C. and Helen Ruth Wood Boren. Formerly of Hobbs, N.M., he was a resident of Canton for 12 years. He retired from Tutle & Tutle Trucking, where he worked as an operator in the oil field.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jesse C. Boren.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Boren, Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and George Millsap, and Serena and Jim Bray, all of Canton, and Rhonda and Terry Parisher, Hilltop Lake; sister, Jeanette Palmer, Midland; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers included Chris Spicer, James Goodson, James Dolan and Chase "Bear" Grissom.
Sons-in-law, George, Jim and Terry, served as honorary pallbearers.
