Three Taken Into Custody On Outstanding Warrants
Three Van Zandt County people were arrested last week by Van Zandt County Sheriff’s officers, each with multiple outstanding warrants.
Two of the people, Jennifer Barrentine, 22, Canton, and Melissa Lee, 29, Wills Point, were arrested on warrants originating from one incident.
"Barrentine had three felony warrants after she stole a credit card, driver’s license and Social Security information from three different people and used that information to bail Lee out of jail back in May," said Van Zandt County Investigator Kenny Martin.
Martin said that when it was discovered that false information was given to bail Lee out of jail, Lee was then issued warrants on release of surety.
Lacey Hipp, 24, Wills Point, was also arrested. Hipp had warrants for forgery in Van Zandt and Kaufman counties and a warrant for delivery of a controlled substance.
"Hipp has been wanted for a while. He has been in our Van Zandt County Most Wanted several times," said Martin.
The office of the Texas Rangers assisted in the arrests.
As of press time Monday, all three remained in the Van Zandt County Jail.
