Electrical Fire Damages House

Wills Point firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 830 E.N. Commerce at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

An apparent electrical fire ignited behind the refrigerator, causing extensive damage to the wall between the kitchen and the laundry room.

"The fire was primarily contained to the laundry room and the attic above that room," said assistant fire marshal Richard Mooseburger. "There was also extensive smoke damage throughout the house."

No one was home at the time of the fire, and neighbors called it in. Canton and Edgewood fire departments also responded, and the fire was out at 4:13 p.m.
