Voter Registration Deadline On Monday
Linda Mouton from the Hunt County Voter Administration is amazed at the amount of people registering to vote this year. With the upcoming presidential election, Hunt County citizens have been registering to vote in numbers well above past years.
The deadline to register is October 6, and all one needs is a driver’s license or Social Security card to do so. If sending in a registration by mail, it must be postmarked on or before October 6.
Early voting will begin on October 20 and will go through October 31. No voting location changes have occurred for Quinlan residents.
Citizens in the area can vote early at Brookshire’s Grocery in Quinlan on Saturday, October 25. from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m.
Election day will be on Tuesday, November 4, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
To prepare citizens for the election, the Lake Tawakoni Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a political forum on October 16, at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center.
The forum will be attended by local and state candidates for office, and will allow a two minute introduction for each candidate. A moderator will then pose questions asked by audience members.
This will be an informative event, and has always been well attended by candidates and citizens.
