Cultural Arts Program held

Van Zandt Extension Education Association held a Cultural Arts Program at the extension office on March 13 with Agent Melisa Rhodes judging the event.

Bonnie Green took home the first place and best of show for her larger than life 50 x 70 machine rag quilt.  Judy Dickens won first place for her small rag quilt.  Carol Strout’s entry of satin pillow fabric creation took first place.  Pearl Beaty won second place for her tea towels.  Judy Dickens got first place for her craft painting coasters.  Pearl Beaty won first for her machine embroidery hand towel and first for her holiday towel.  Carolyn Minor took first for her photography.  Carolyn Davis won first in the hand stitchery for her smocked dress.  All the blue ribbon winners will go on to the Spring District Meeting in April.

The business meeting will held with the final plans made for the upcoming conference.  A covered dish luncheon was enjoyed by all.  The next meeting will be at 10 a.m.  April 10 at the extension office in Canton.
