Graveside services for Sharon Wallace, 80, Tyler, was held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Colfax Cemetery officiating under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.

Sharon Wallace was born Nov. 11, 1940, in the Colfax area of Van Zandt County. She was the salutatorian of the 1959 Class of Van High School. She played tennis at TJC and went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree from North Texas University. In earlier years, she worked as a teacher for several years. She was a member of Sylvania Baptist Church and enjoyed playing golf. Mrs. Wallace passed away at the age of 80 on Oct. 20, 2021, in Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jackie Ray Wallace in 2017; parents, George Price Stroud and Willie Velma Sanders Stroud; sister, Verna Simmons, and son-in-law, Kenneth Welch, Jr. Survivors include her two children, Kirk Wallace and wife, Deana, of Whitehouse and Kristin Welch of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Garland and Carol Stroud of Van, and four grandchildren, Sara Wallace, Cole Wallace, Kyle Welch and Karley Welch. The family served as pallbearers.
